My wish is that if it's only possible do a skill update every 2-3 months they stop buffing skills altogether. Even if it were possible to do more regular updates with ideas fully vetted by players beforehand the efficacy would be questionable, but as is it's been one painful blunder after another. What's that old saying about doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results...hmm.

Anets update policy is completely jacked.
They do BS updates like moving Nicholas the Vagrant out from behind a bush during prime-time playing hours. I don't know how many times I've had good runs ruined because of an update for some inane triviality.
To make matters worse, more often than not, they do a quick follow-up update because they didn't chech what they were changing and have to fix what they screwed up with the first update.

Hi Nine!
Anyway, yeah...I don't expect anything from Anet this Xmas. A skill update would be nice, but I'm more scared that they'll just fck that up...and I really don't want another balancing skill update. That's just pointless when the meta is this broken
Oh, my dream gift would be the XTH fixed. But that wont happen.

forget the fixing, just give us our points that they owe us and the free level bump that they said they would give us.

Hey, KJ.
I don't play but an hour or two a week anymore, because its started to make me dry heave. When I do play, I just stick to my own little microchosm. I don't even know what XTH is.

Uh.. they can't tell you that because we are still debating changes and discussing them? You want a good skill balance, and we are going to do our damnedest do give it to you. Now stop bitching.

As far as I have seen, there hasent been a single peep from Anet for almost a week or so? Thats quite unusual even for Anet, thats probably what getting most people wound up like cheap clocks.
Even a little peep from Regina or anyone from Anet would appease some people at the moment.

Anet has always been in the community and also taking opinions from the community for a long time. They can't just give you what you want though. You have to take what they give you and play the game that way you can't just get a game which is perfect to play based on your opinion. People also have differing opinions of what is best, such as the nerfing of shadow form, so it wouldn't be easy to implement something like that anyways.
It's somewhat common knowledge that Izzy asked some people for their opinions on PvP rebalancing and I'm guessing there are some people out there in PvE who have been asked similar questions. These people are similar to what the test krewe are, probably not at the same skill level though. They are their to give opinions on changes anet is proposing not to say, "This is what to change and this is how you change it."
Anet's current level of interaction should be seen as major based on how they use a community derived testing team to work out current issues in the game. Sure it's not everyone giving their opinion but there are a good number of opinions coming straight from the community to them. I am as disappointed as anyone else who doesn't get to voice their opinions through the test krewe and interact with the live team but if I ever wanted to get my opinion to the live team I would probably go to one of the members of the test krewe with my issue or post on a forum. I wouldn't doubt that there is someone from Anet reading this thread right now really.

Call it belligerence all day and night. It doesn't change that fact that we are working on the skill update, and that no matter which way you word damn threads, they all say the same thing: "QQ!!!!!111!!"
And personally, I don't appreciate the fact that my hard work on the Test Krewe is being ignored because you guys are so horrendously impatient. I believe I speak for the entire Test Krewe when I say, "Learn some patience."

QQ less, Skill balance moar. And if you could manage it with a little less hyperbole and a lot less self aggrandizement, that would be really cool too.
Yeah, happy holidays or something...

You know, It's one thing to go "sorry dudes, we can't keep up so we're doing this every -other- month", but it's a whole other thing to completely FAIL in delivering that as well. Are we going to start doing quarterly skill updates now, and then end up waiting half a year for them?
IDK, I don't play the game anymore. It's beyond boring for me anymore. I just like making builds, so naturally all I care about anymore is the skill updates, and frankly, "train wreck" doesn't even begin to describe those.
Either live up to the standards you present, Anet, or... *GASP* Don't make standards.
It's a lot easier to please people when instead of saying "skill updates every other month", you say "skill updates whenever we feel like it"
You don't have a deadline, Anet. when you set dates and don't meet them, it makes you look like a crappy team. When you don't set dates, and cranks stuff out whenever you can, you look a lot better. That's the trouble with being connected to your fanbase like that.

-Heroes (an alternative for henchmen) Which have caused endless complaints on the PVP side of things, and were eventually removed wholesale from PvP.
-Extra account panels: Storage chest panels? Which caused endless QQ over pricing, and were a nightmare for the free give away promotion, requiring accounts to be tied to an NCsoft master account and the alleged security risks it brings, not to mention all the people wrongly banned for fraudulent credit card transactions.
-A boss at the end of the Underworld: Yes, just go and look at the QQ threads regarding "The waiting game" to see how well that was initially received.
-Rewards at the end of each campaign: Yes, after three years they went back and added a reward to the end of Prophecies to bring it inline with the other campaigns.
-Hall of Monuments: Yes, this never had bugs.
-Equipment packs: QQ threads regarding the Zaishen coin cost, or the required grind of old content (as opposed to creating actual new content) inherent in the big birthday update. And they rebalanced the rewards not long after release.
-Reconnection options in the case of a disconnect: This was a great addition, and LONG OVERDUE.
-A shapeshifting profession: Wait, what? Not in this game, I'm afraid.
-An alternative healer profession: Oh Elementalists, or Ritualists? edit: (Or Dervish? Or Paragon?)
-Nicholas the Traveler: How dare you forget to mention the ever adorable Professor Yakkington!
-High end (green) weapons: That quickly became low end green weapons. But yes, they were nice while they lasted.
-Dishonerable system for leavers: And also the dishonorable system for people who bother to report leeches, awesome work there too.
-Chests that require a key or lockpick: I could be mistaken, but weren't keys added to counter people running the previous free unlocked chests, especially those located near a portal that could be endlessly farmed?
-Lockpicks and keys for those chests: Yes, credit to Anet here, they added chest that require keys, and had the wisdom to also add the required keys... pure genius.
-Titles in general: That had to be majorly reworked due to extensive botting of certain titles (oh noes, too hard!), that they messed up a number of times (The Hero title, from memory) while rebalancing titles, and of course, the QQ that continues to this day... tying skills to titles.
-Report options for leechers, spammers and scammers: That got abused and resulted in far more QQ than if they were never added. /Report became both a joke and a weapon of vindication against anyone who offended lamers.
-Countless bug fixes over the past few years: And nearly as many bugs added during updates and skill balancing.
Just a small sampling of fail. Wow, that was such a negative post... umm, I love Yakkington... goodwork Anet, thanks for the Yak.
I did notice that the XTH was STRANGELY ABSENT from your list.

Actually, you have it backwards. Anet is a business and everyone with a GW account is a customer.
The customer has a right to complain if they are dissatisfied with a product/service.
Dealing with the people you take money from is just the nature of the beast. They have to either fix it, deal with it, or find a new business and another way to line their pockets.
I can tell you for a fact, that if I was in charge of a multi-million dollar product like GW and I had someone associated with it in any way who wanted to spew a diatribe of .... qq ... bullshit this .... qq ... bullshit that ... qq .... you dont appreciate us ... to my customer base, I'd find a new associate. The gaming industry is way too competitive to alienate the people whose money keeps the lights on.
And thanks for the holiday wishes. Same to you.
